Spring time– –a season for rebirth and new beginnings.

“Anyone who can reach you, can love you, or leave you.
There’s a mark you leave, when you left…”

After returning from the Easter hols, I looked out of my window…surprised to see that the trees and flowers have grown so quickly. To me, trees and flowers is a subtle reminder of time passing. And with the flash of eye, I’ve been away from home for 3 months already..

Being away from home was not easy at first..but it could have been more difficult if I hadn’t met friends who made the settling down easier.
And there are the people back at home who never forget you, no matter where you are…the simple 3 minutes call (which seemed like it was 10 secs long), the handwritten letter..the small gestures that means so much. Especially to someone living alone in a foreign land.

As we count down to the days of returning home, we suddenly realise how little time we have left under the unpredictable UK weather, and strong winds (which always gives me red and swollen eyes),
with all the time in the world shopping and laughing in market on market days,
taking time to shop in Topshop, New look (with the 10% student’s discount!) and wear-and-throw Primark,
gumbling about “why is there no River Island in Lufbra!?”,
grocery shopping at Sainsbury’s (laughing at the “Peking Duck Kit” and cod fish steak that looks like vanilla ice-cream sticks);
having no need to nevigate in Lufbra (since it’s so puny),
comestics shopping at Boot’s,
and my 3 day-week..

I look forward to returning home in early Summer. Yet, the thought of having to return to the familiar surroundings which I’ve drifted away from, seems quite daunting too..

Nonetheless, I know there are people back at home, awaiting my return.
